So what's going on here, anyway?

The bus leaves Colby for Logan at 9 AM Friday morning. From there it's a week of exciting adventures in Argentina - that much, you know. This post will give you an idea of our itinerary in a more specific fashion, and what pieces we'll be performing.

Friday, March 20th
Travel day! Bus to Logan, flight to Miami, and then it's off to Buenos Aires.

Saturday, March 21st
After losing an hour to time zones, we arrive in Argentina early in the morning, enjoy a guided tour of the city en route to our hotel, the Hotel Torre Cristoforo Colombo. For the rest of the day we'll tour the city, having a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, the Rio Alba.

Sunday, March 22nd
Today is spent at the Recoleta Markets before our first performance of the tour, at the San Pedro Church in San Telmo in the afternoon.

Monday, March 23rd
We check out of the hotel and head to the US Embassy for a performance. Incidentally, the last US group to perform at the embassy in Buenos Aires was the Yale Whiffenpoofs. After the concert we head to the mountains, arriving in Tandil in the late afternoon, where we have a group dinner.

Tuesday, March 24th
After a morning rehearsal at the Capilla del Colegio San Jose we tour Tandil, and close out the evening with a performance.

Wednesday, March 25th
Back to Buenos Aires we go, checking back into the Cristoforo Colombo and having a Tango Show at dinner.

Thursday, March 26th
We spend the morning getting ready for our performance at St. Georges School, perform right before noon, and have the rest of the day free to enjoy Buenos Aires.

Friday, March 27th
After another guided tour (a Tango tour!) of the city, we come to face the saddest part of the tour: leaving Argentina.

Saturday, March 28th
We get back to the United States, where we have the rest of the weekend to rest and recuperate before getting back to classes.

So now you know mostly what's going on, but what exactly will we be singing? There will be some Spanish pieces, a few others (including two versions of Ave Maria, one by Stravinsky, the other by Franz Biebl), and finally some pieces from Colby: arrangements of Our Father and Fill The Bumper Fair by Peter Rè, and an untitled piece from Colby Professor Ryan Vigil (the world debut)!

And now you know. Look for an update before we depart! Until then, Buenas Noches!

  1. Hello everyone!

I just wanted to wish you all the very best on your trip! You are all so lucky to be touring and performing in a country with such variety and culture :-)

If only I could go with you! Have a great time, but please remember to be safe. Please post pictures of yourselves busking, and Paul dancing, because we at home would love to see everyone's smile.

    Miss you all,
